Building upon the success of workshop: Solo shifts / Live scores facilitated by Performance artist Vicky Kapo at the Play_station gallery during PAWA 2017.

Kapo offered a two-day workshop, a longer conversation with kinetic orality and other pleasures within performance can occur.

In group and solo work the group responsibly supported and crafted performance and performance material with the bodies of knowledge they had.

It was a fluid and functional space for people who like to improvise, perform and or move stuff, whether it be themselves, others, space, objects, sounds, words images, and beliefs. It developed the artful debate of provocateurs, engaging scientifically in non-judgment. Dropping attachments and desires for it to look, or sound like theatre, or a dance, or dance theatre or a script. Dropping the counts, move the lights, discard costuming and release the ego. Throwing out the deep and meaningful concepts and also the well-meaning scores. It stripped the space and ourselves bare so they could embrace the naked body as if it were a foreign country.

We then returned to the bodies we know to wilfully begin to rebuild our experience of performance, performer witness and audience member, destroying the idea of performance space along the way before we started again.
