Mending Wellington

“Mending “wellington” and google street view by way of Nudnik Maintenance System ” involved roaming specific parts of the city with maintenance Bot (Adam Ben Dror) instructed by chris berthelsen over the ad-hoc video device, for the bot to mend or improve public and private areas, as well as chris to amend google street view from his home computer.

Exploring with a “fine tooth comb”, discussing possible “fixes” with the people they met, and implementing them to the best of their abilities.

This multiple-day performance, real-time prototyping, and public interaction was an invitation to think about questions such as: Can we all be responsible for taking care of our city? What might happen when we believe we are all responsible for the aesthetics of public spaces? What is the extent of our duty to fix and improve our general environment? What are the boundaries of ‘goodwill’?
